This policy explains what ReCal, LLC, doing business as ReCal MAX, collects when you use the ReCal MAX website
and how we use it.
What we collect
- Account details: your shop name, sign-in email and password. Passwords are stored only as a
salted one-way hash, never in readable form.
- Estimate data: when you upload a PDF, we read it to build your report and delete the uploaded
file right away. To keep your report history, we save the vehicle description, VIN, color, date of loss, options,
labor rates, insurance company name, estimate line items, totals and the resulting report.
- What we do not keep: we do not save the PDF itself, the file name, or the vehicle owner's name,
address, phone number, or the claim or policy numbers printed on the estimate.
- Billing details: payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. We keep
your plan, its billing dates, and the customer and subscription IDs Stripe gives us.
- Technical data: our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, such as IP address, browser
type and pages requested, for security and troubleshooting.
Cookies
We use one cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
How we use it
- To run the Service: build reports, show your report history and manage your account and trial.
- To contact you about your account, billing or changes to the Service.
- To support you and check that reports are accurate. ReCal MAX staff may view your reports and see when your
account signs in and checks estimates.
- To maintain and improve the Service, including using estimate data in de-identified form, with no shop or
vehicle owner identified.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information or share it for advertising. We share it only as needed to run the Service:
- NHTSA: the vehicle's VIN is sent to the U.S. government's public vehicle database to look up
driver-assist equipment.
- Service providers: companies that host the Service and its database, deliver its web fonts
(which receive your IP address when a page loads), send its email, and help us run and analyze it, all under
agreements that limit their use of your information to providing services to us. Our payment processor (Stripe)
receives your email address and payment details when you pay.
- The law: if required by law, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
- A business transfer: if ReCal MAX is sold or merged, your information may transfer to the new
owner under this policy.
Keeping and deleting data
We keep your account and reports while your account is open. Email support@recalmax.com to delete specific reports or your
whole account, and we will remove them from our active systems within 30 days.
Security
The site uses encrypted HTTPS connections, passwords are hashed, and each shop can see only its own reports. No
system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password that you do not use anywhere else.
Children
The Service is for businesses and is not meant for anyone under 18.
Changes
If we change this policy in a significant way, we will tell you by email or on the site before the change takes
effect.
